Hobbes' plush version does not appear much in the comic strip. The reason... Calvin does not see hobbes as a toy, but as a best friend. He's only a toy when other people are around, but Calvin still sees a tiger.

Hobbes in plush form is not a toy too Calvin.Other people see him as a toy...but Calvin still sees him as a real man-eating,vishious tiger.
